Lucid Dreaming, Acting and Directing

 Angel Morgan, PhD

LaBerge (2014) made a distinction that “Lucid dreaming involves a balance between detachment and participation in which both actor and observer perspectives are present” (p. 147). How does lucid dreaming relate to acting and directing? What can acting and directing teach us about lucid dreaming? How can lucid dreaming help actors, and directors? How can lucid dreaming inform dream psychodrama? How does acting technique, and acting method, mirror lucid dreaming engineering, and psychospiritual development? This presentation will explore these questions, and Dr. Morgan will give examples and offer some ideas about those topics based on her interdisciplinary experience with theater and dream psychology.
